Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi shares three new wedding photos - Daily Mail

COCKTAILS AT HOME

It's National Pina Colada Day on 10th July and if you're not tempted back to the bars and pubs just yet, Duppy Share - one of the most delicious spiced rums in town - has a kit with everything you need to whip up your own creations at home, and it couldn't be easier. Take 50ml The Duppy Share Spiced, 50ml Coco Lopez or Coconut Milk and 100ml Frobisher’s Pineapple Juice and shake the ingredients with ice, or blend with crushed ice. Serve with a pineapple wedge, and hopefully some sunshine!

45 JERMYN ST.

If you looking for a slice of old school in the city with a modern-day twist, head to 45 Jermyn St. Tucked away behind the Queen's top food purveyor Fortnum & Mason, this gem of a restaurant in the heart of St James's gets top mark for its warm and convivial atmosphere. When it comes to the menu, there is a nice concise spread of dishes to tickle your fancy. There is a new vegan section, with standouts including spinach and tofu dumplings and a black truffle-infused pumpkin salad. If you want to push the boat out, be sure to try the beef wellington or lobster which both are flambéed at your table. The cocktail list hits the spot, with stellar signature martinis and inventions such as the Pickadil - sesame oil washed white rum, date reduction and lime - putting your palate to the test. The Aperitif Soda will bring out your inner-scientist with a pipette enabling you to blend your own sparkling sip. The perfect spot to hide away and forget the bustle of the city outside.

THEO RANDALL

Cosy, elegant and unstuffy, Theo Randall at the Intercontinental immediately makes you feel at home. Head here if you're looking for a low-key lunch or dinner with some fine Italian fodder to keep you entertained, not to mention an array of innovative cocktails. The daily-changing menu is inspired by Randall's regular trips to Italy. The fluffy focaccia served to start melted in the mouth and our portions didn't last long. The menu features a good selection to suit all tastes, with cheeses, meats, fish and pasta to tickle the fancy. There is also a separate list for vegetarians. A salad featuring thinly sliced black Angus beef was a winner for us, as was the roasted sea bream. Don't leave without dipping into dessert and the ricotta cheesecake was a highlight! If you’re a wine-lover you’ll be happy here but for cocktail connoisseurs the martini and negroni menus are recommended, with the caper-infused martini being a very unique blend!

Ember Yard

The newly relaunched Ember Yard has always been a winner, and we're happy to report things have only got better! Opting for the tasting menu, we started with the creamiest scoop of buratta perfectly combined with grapes for sweetness and hazelnuts for crunch, spread on a deliciously charred and garlicky flatbread. A butternut squash salad full of toasted crunchy seeds is the perfect side to octopus and chorizo skewers, while the artichoke risotto with punchy gorgonzola is the comfort food of dreams. Kombucha cured mackerel in carrot emulsion was a little too sweet, but things were looking up again in the form of Iberico cheeks on a creamy potato cake and chicken thighs with hulks of crispy skin. Finished off with a divinely light cheesecake to share, it's the kind of faultless feast happy evenings are made of.

BaoziInn Chinatown II

The 6th BaoziInn in London focuses on Taiwanese street food in modest surroundings where the food can do the talking, and it certainly packs a punch. We ran a gauntlet of hit after hit, starting with crispy popcorn chicken and sliced sausage with pickles. Shredded chicken in a rich chef’s special chilli oil is a real knockout that will have you scooping up the sauce after the last shred of meat has been devoured. Small Soup Dumplings are parcels of joy with a delicious savoury dipping sauce, while Taiwanese Braised Minced Pork Rice is a feast all in itself. One of the most enjoyable dinners we've had for a long time, a next visit is already on the cards.

DIRTY BONES AT HOME

While you may not be able to get to restaurants quite yet, Dirty Bones have released their Get Dirty at Home’ experience so customers can try a their much-loved and very indulgent Mac Daddy Burger and Lamb Fries and an Old Fashioned cocktail at home. The kit, which they claim is perfect for a 'dirty night in' also includes a condom.

BIRDIES

If you're in search of the perfect destination for a first date, Birdies in Battersea Power Station is ideal for keeping the conversation flowing. The newly opened immersive crazy golf experience features a refreshing cocktail bar and delicious street food. From the team behind SFG Club in Stratford, Birdies also works as a destination for partying with friends. The venue plays a selection of the best chart toppers throughout the years, all while serving up an exclusive Taco-Yaki menu. A must try on the menu is the tasty yakitori. As seafood lovers we indulged in their signature Takoyaki dish — octopus dumplings with Japanese mayo, signature sauce and pickled ginger. If you prefer something more hearty, Birdies offers the Colonel’s Sando - wrapped in chunky white bread, Katsu chicken stacked on top of spiced curdito, drizzled with a signature sauce.

HERITAGE

Winter can only mean comfort food, but if you're looking to elevate the experience to something really special then the newly opened Heritage is the answer to a feast that's Swiss sophistication rather than stodgy. We started with crisp rosti with 18 month Comte, with savoury fried onions and welcome crispness of green apple, which is surprisingly light and delicate. Of course, you have to try the fondue, and we opted for the truffled version which is utterly delicious with pickles, while a selection of crudites adds a saintly touch to the indulgence. The real superstar was 40-Day Dry Aged Belted Galloway Chateaubriand, served on a tabletop BBQ, which provided slice after delicate slice of melt-in-the-mouth tenderness. We even had room for a savoury Fourme D’ambert cheesecake, while a knockout Kirschtorte with dark chocolate and cherry is possibly one of the best chocolate desserts you'll taste this side of Christmas.

PHO BRUNCH

If you're looking to spice up your bottomless brunch with a something a little different Pho's new offering is as flavoursome as it gets. We opted for free-flowing Bloody Marys with a warming hint of Sriracha, but there's prosecco on offer if you want to keep it traditional. Fresh summer rolls are the perfect light bite to start with, and we recommend the omelette with Sriracha ketchup, chillies and avocado, making sure you make the most of the side of Asian herbs which elevates this to something special. And you certainly can't go wrong with Phở tái with steak for a warming winter treat. It's not the buzziest of brunches you'll find out there, but for a low-key catch up, this is a definite winner.

THE ESSENCE HOUSE

The Essence House held during London Cocktail Week is an interactive experience with some of world’s most skilled bartenders who will be on hand to distil drinkers’ palate preferences and craft a bespoke cocktail, carefully calibrated for each individual’s taste profile. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options will be available. Visitors can experiment with London Essence’s tonics, gingers and sodas as they create their own individual cocktail at an innovative self-serve bar stocked with a range of luxury drinks. Tickets to The Essence House are £10, which provides entry to the event, including a personalised palate profiling experience, and two cocktails.

BABA G'S

Following their huge success on Million Pound Menu, Alec Owen and Liz Selway have taken their famed street food to a sit-down diner in Camden market, serving up its signature Bhangra burgers and other deliciously spiced comfort food. We had to try the famous patties and sampled the Naga Delhi Burger, with a satisfying kick of chilli sauce in the perfect soft bun, and the Cheeky Tikka Chicken that comes with a crispy onion bhaji. On the side, we plumped for paneer loaded fries, drowning in delicious chilli sauce, pickles and spinach, which was a lot lighter and fresher than the name suggests. There’s no shortage of gourmet burger joints around, but the Indian flavours and make this a cut above, and you’ll go home feeling like you’ve experienced a genuinely innovative dining experience, rather than just another dirty burger.

THE MANTL

The newly-opened Mantl in Knightsbridge takes all the best elements of Turkish flavour and colour and presents them with flair, in slick stylish surroundings. We’re confident you could dine off the starters alone and go home happy, with highlights including grilled octopus; smoked sheep’s yoghurt bursting with the sweetness of glazed figs and grape molasses, with a hit of savoury from dried oak cured beef, and smoked aubergine with tarhana crisps. If you want your food to look as good as it tastes, then Instagram-fanatics will be in heaven with these stunningly-presented dishes. And you’ll never see (or taste!) a more beautiful set of lamb chops than a stack that arrives on shallot pomme puree with a dainty sprinkling of pistachio. We also enjoyed a flawless chicken shish, and after all that feasting there was no room for dessert, but with food this good, it won’t be long before we’re tempted back.

SKETCH LIBRARY & LECTURE ROOM

Take your tastebuds on a tantalising journey to Sketch's Lecture Room & Library. The hidden-away restaurant is a sumptuous lair, boasting mirrored panels and lavish decor. The service is faultless, with charming French waiters running you through the wacky and wonderful bill of fare. There is a dedicated truffle menu which is not to be missed and if you're a fan of mushrooms, the 'summer' starter from the a la carte menu promises to hit the spot. From the mains, the lobster prepared in two ways is a particular highlight. Be sure to make room for Pierra Gagnaire's Grand Dessert, which features a meze of irresistible sweet treats. Each dish at the Lecture Room & Library is delicately dissected. This is tapas taken to new heights! On the drinks front, there is a dedicated sommelier who is extremely knowledgeable and able to recommend the perfect tipple to complement your selections. Get ready for a gastronomic adventure that you will definitely remember!

MONIKER

If you’re after somewhere with a generous edge of glamour that still remains unpretentious and serves really decent food in the heart of the City, then The Moniker by Drake & Morgan is a winner. We started with tender Salt & Szechuan pepper squid with a zesty lemon mayo, delightfully spicy padron peppers and chicken wings with a maple & chilli glaze, with the latter getting a strong thumbs up from someone who’s not normally a fan. The Wagyu beef burger was juicy and perfectly executed, while a monkfish curry had just the right level of heat and richness. But anywhere that allows you to order three different kind of chips at once (we opted for the trio with regular fries, BBQ sauce and truffled chips) is a real winner in our eyes. You could easily mistake it for another city joint serving up soulless food, but we left genuinely impressed by the quality and service.
