Wiley is finally blocked from Instagram, Facebook and Twitter - Daily Mail

Facebook blocks Wiley following ANOTHER anti-Semitic rant as he challenges David Baddiel and broadcaster Emma Barnett to racism debate after Instagram and Twitter finally barred him for racist jibes

  • Wiley took to Facebook to continue inflammatory rant after social media bans
  • He was today blocked from Facebook after posting apparent anti-Semitic jibes
  • In rant, the musician took aim at Priti Patel and BBC Radio 5 host Emma Barnett

Grime star Wiley was today blocked from Facebook as well as Twitter and Instagram after he launched another inflammatory rant which appeared to contain anti-Semitic remarks.

The musician - real name Richard Cowie - has been suspended from the social media platform for seven days over the posts, which were made over the past 48 hours.

He had already been banned from Twitter and Instagram over the weekend over anti-Semitic comments which are currently being probed by police.

Ahead of his ban today, Wiley took to his personal Facebook page to share a stream of provocative comments which appear to be aimed at the Jewish community.

In one post, Wiley claimed that 'certain people' viewed black people as 'below them' in society.

He wrote: 'Black people we have always been below them in their eyes this is what f****d me up in the head... Why do certain people from other races want us below them?'

In another post, the grime star added: 'This is what they fear, that one day black people will be in control...  So they keep doing everything to make sure that doesn't happen.'

He also mentioned BBC Radio 5 host Emma Barnett and Jewish comedian David Baddiel, demanding they both 'come and talk to my face' after they spoke out about his previous comments.

Barnett, whose Jewish grandmother escaped the Nazis in Austria, yesterday condemned Wiley's string of anti-Semitic posts to social media as 'deeply dispiriting', adding: 'Those words burn'.

It comes after Wiley launched a number of attacks on the Jewish community over the weekend, including posting a video on Friday telling Jews to 'crawl out from under your little rocks.'

He also shared a conspiracy theory to Instagram about Jews funding and creating the Klu-Klux Klan, which still appears on his page despite claims from the social media platform that they have deleted hate speech content from his account.

Campaigners last week demanded Instagram shut down his account to prevent a 'further outpouring of anti-Jewish venom'.

Metropolitan Police are investigating comments made by Wiley on Twitter and Instagram, which prompted his management company to severe ties with him.

But despite being blocked from two social media platforms over the weekend, Wiley appeared to take to his personal Facebook account to continue making provocative remarks.

In one post, he referred to comments made by Israeli rabbi Sephardi Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef in 2018 - when he compared black people to monkeys during a sermon.

Wiley said: 'Any people who are quick to call police on black people are against us...

'Especially for speaking cos nobody called police for the rabbi who said black people look like monkeys.'

In another Facebook comment, he said: 'Certain people use black boys for financial gain... Then scream victim when the black boy catches them out.

'Ya know what's wrong with me, I know what certain people in all races think of black people so now I'm firing back... that's all.'

Wiley also took aim at Priti Patel during his two-day rant, after the Home Secretary described his anti-Semitic posts as 'abhorrent.'

'They should not have been able to remain on Twitter and Instagram for so long and I have asked them for a full explanation,' she said.

'Social media companies must act much faster to remove such appalling hatred from their platforms.'

Appearing to post in response, Wiley said: 'Priti Patel, you wanna see me?'

In other comments - which according to the Jewish Chronicle have since been deleted - Wiley reportedly claimed his sister's home had been visited by 12 police officers.

'Listen Golders Green ring my sister and lets meet ASAP,' he said, appearing to refer to the Jewish community.

In other allegedly deleted posts, he added 'Golders Green yes see you soon. I will come on my own', and 'Who called the police? Are you from Golders Green? I am coming to sit with you in Golders Green...'

In his penultimate post, after sharing information about slavery in the US, Wiley claimed he doesn't want to argue: 'I wanna sit at the table and speak calmly... We need to come to the table and discuss this.'

Facebook today confirmed the musician has been banned from the platform, two days after the company made the decision to block his access to Instagram.

A spokesman said: 'There is no place for hate speech on any of our platforms, including attacks against Jews.

'We have deleted content that violates our policies from Wiley's Facebook and Instagram profiles and have blocked access to them for seven days.

'We're continuing to investigate the situation.'

Let's block ads! (Why?)
