At least one person has been seriously injured and trains are unable to stop at the platform after an explosion near a railway station in Suffolk.

Police attending Stowmarket Railway Station, Suffolk, this evening urged the public to stay clear of the area.

Trains are unable to arrive at the station's platforms and will not be stopping at Stowmarket Station due to an 'ongoing incident', National Rail Enquiries tweeted.

Suffolk Today reported that a burger van, which was operating from behind the King's Arms pub, is thought to have been involved in the explosion.

East of England Ambulance Service confirmed initial reports, adding that two of the mobile catering unit's gas canisters had exploded, causing 'minor injuries' to two patients, ITV News Anglia reported.
