A shooting in southwest England on Thursday evening killed five people, police said, and the gunman is also dead.
In a statement, Devon & Cornwall Police said they responded to "a serious firearms incident in Biddick Drive, in the Keyham area of Plymouth," after 6 p.m.
"Following attendance at the scene, two females and two males were deceased at the scene," police said. "A further male, believed to be the offender, was also deceased at the scene. All are believed to have died from gunshot wounds."
"Another female treated at the scene for gunshot wounds, died a short time later in hospital."
Police say all of the next of kin of the deceased have been informed and that no one else is being sought in connection with the incident.
Police have not identified the suspect or the victims and have not announced a motive.
Plymouth is a city of over 200,000 people on the southwest coast of England.
Johnny Mercer, a member of Parliament from the area, said in a tweet that the incident "is not terror related, and neither is the suspect on the run in Plymouth."
Luke Pollard, another member of Parliament from Plymouth, said details of the incident are "awfully grim" and warned to "prepare" for "more grim news tomorrow."
"I’m utterly devastated that one of the people killed in the #keyham shooting was a child under ten years old," Pollard tweeted.
"There are images and videos circulating on social media that show bodies on the ground — we are a strong city, we are a decent city, full of decent people, please can we not share those images?" Pollard asked.
