Nicola Sturgeon claimed the UK government had thrown a “hissy fit” in a row over the pace of vaccination in Scotland.
The First Minister reacted after opponents again criticised the speed of the massive logistical programme north of the border.
In Holyrood, Tory MSP Ruth Davidson claimed 717,000 doses of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca drugs had been received but more than 400,000 doses have yet to be given to patients.
It follows an apology by the Scottish Government’s health secretary after the UK Government complained about “sensitive” details of the vaccine programme being published online.
It comes as a devastated Scot who caught Covid two weeks after his best pal told how he returned back to work - but found out his friend tragically died.
Simon Brown, 50, lost friend of 40 years Andy Sinclair, 49, yesterday morning.
The two pals contracted Covid-19 in December just two weeks apart but was left shocked when he was given the tragic news of Andy’s death.
Meanwhile a further 71 coronavirus deaths were yesterday recorded in Scotland over the last 24 hours.
The First Minister also announced that 1,165 new cases of COVID-19 were reported overnight, taking the total figure to 164,927.
The latest deaths bring the total toll to 5,376.
