Met Office danger to life amber weather warning issued - Liverpool Echo

The Met Office has upgraded its weather warning for rain on Merseyside.

A new amber warning has been issued this morning with the Met Office warning there is a danger to life.

The warning is expected to last 24 hours from midday today.

A yellow weather warning was issued yesterday with 24 hours of torrential rain forecast for the region.

According to the Met Office's weather warning map, the alert will stretch from parts of North Wales, across Merseyside and to Manchester.

The Met Office says there is a good chance of flooded roads, delays in public transport due to difficult driving conditions and power cuts in the region.

They said: "Fast flowing or deep floodwater is likely, causing danger to life. Spray and flooding probably leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. A good chance some communities will be cut off by flooded roads. Delays and some cancellations to train and bus services are likely. Power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses likely."
