A man has been arrested for attempted murder following a shooting in West London.

Police found one man shot and a teenager stabbed in Queen’s Park on Sunday after responding to reports of gunfire at around 7.44pm.

It came after a night of carnage in the capital on Saturday saw a 13-year-old boy stabbed in Putney and six people shot in Brixton.

Arriving officers to yesterday’s incident in Beethoven Street first found a 26-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The London Ambulance Service rushed him to hospital but his current condition is not known.

Paramedics, including from the London Air Ambulance, found a 19-year-old man suffering from a stab injury nearby.

He was also taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A third man, aged 29, was also found injured and taken to hospital.

Police erected a crime scene between Beethoven Street and Bruckner street.

Crime scene investigators donning blue protective gear and gloves could be seen working the area last night.

The man arrested for attempted murder remains in custody at a police station.

Stop and search was increased in and around the area after police authorised a Section 60 Order.

It meant officers had extra powers to search people at will in the whole of North Westminster until 8am on Monday morning.

The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to call 101.
